I have several shows in the next couple of months — but the shelf was looking like Mother Hubbards’s cupboard. Time to get busy! Right now it’s earrings. I made several pairs when I was at the Water Valley Art Show last weekend and finished off more this week.
But Mother Nature threw a wrench in my plans: yet another blizzard. (Hey, what happened to spring?) Snow started piling up yesterday afternoon and by supper time we were living in a winter wonderland. We’d just finished eating when the power went off. Again. A repeat of last weekend. Sigh.
By this morning we had more than a foot of snow and still no power. We fired up the wood stove so we were soon toasty. I filled my big canner with snow and set it on the stove so we’d have water — our pump doesn’t run when the power is off. Stuck things from the fridge in the snow on the deck.
Then I hauled my beading stuff to the kitchen table. Lots of great natural light. Made more earrings and nearly finished a necklace. Now — 21 hours later — the power is back on. Time to put away the beads and think about supper. All in all, a great day!
