Handcrafted Jewelry — Designed to be Different

Empty Bowls Silent Auction

Airdrie’s Empty Bowls Arts Festival is this Saturday at Nose Creek Park, from 11 to 5. One of the fundraising events for the Airdrie Food Bank is a silent auction. Each participating artist is asked to donate one piece of handmade work.

I’m donating Sea Foam, one of my favourite necklaces.

Sea Foam

I designed and beaded this piece using Japanese seed beads and Czech fire-polished faceted beads. The beaded bead clasp blends almost unnoticed into the design.

The three-dimensional piece is a definite eye-catcher. It’s so unusual people just want to reach out and touch it. 🙂

Beads? What can I say — they snuck up on me when I wasn't looking. Now I'm hooked.

  1. This is stunning. Very clever.

  2. May I copy this picture into my latest post please?

  3. This is fabulous! Reminds me of the creations my grandma used to make. She is my inspiration for my jewelry creations, but certainly nothing at this level…your necklace is definitely an eye-catcher!

  4. Thank you very much. I have already done the link, but wanted to ask permission before ‘illustrating’ it.
